Brothers Joseph & Hyrum 14 Inch | Bronze Tone

The Brothers statue by renowned sculptor D.J. Bawden is a powerful bronze tribute that captures the enduring bond and shared destiny of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. While the tragi culmination of the brothers' lives took place at Carthage Jail in Illinois, this specific sculptural monument was commissioned and placed outside of Illinois to serve as a beacon of their legacy. Bawden, drawing upon his extensive background in religious and historical sculpting, sought to immortalize not just their physical likenesses, but the profound brotherly devotion that kept them united through years of immense trials. In crafting this tribute, Bawden focused intently on the intricate details of their expressions, clothing, and posture, portraying the Prophet and the Patriarch standing shoulder-to-shoulder. The sculpture is highly regarded for its emotional gravity, reflecting the distinct personalities of the two men while emphasizing the shared spiritual weight they carried. By capturing them in a moment of quiet, resolute unity, the artwork tells a visual story of two figures who were undivided in life and inseparable in their ultimate sacrifice, offering viewers a deeply personal and reverent connection to their historical journey. The emotional resonance of the Brothers monument quickly extended far beyond its permanent, life-sized installation, touching the hearts of those who viewed it. Recognizing how deeply the piece impacted people and honoring their desire to keep that spirit close, we at One Moment In Time created smaller-scale versions of the statues. These finely crafted recreations allow families around the world to bring a piece of Bawden’s masterful artwork into their own homes, ensuring the legacy of the piece could be shared on a much more personal level.
